Our Special Educational Needs Team

Our Special Educational Needs team consists of our learning support teacher, resource teacher and a support teacher for children with emotional, social and behavioural needs. We also have a shared learning support teacher. We are also supported by three full time Special Needs Assistants (SNAs). We are included in the School Completion Programme. Other intervention programmes include Art Therapy, Play Therapy and a visiting drumming teacher. Teachers work with individual boys and/or small groups of children who may require additional suppor,t to help them participate fully in school. We aim to optimise the teaching and learning process in order to enable pupils with learning difficulties to achieve adequate levels of proficiency to prepare them for life in literacy, numeracy and social skills before leaving primary school.
